I knew it's been a long time, just didn't realize a year and a half... approximately... Sorry.... So let's see.. the last post was Easter of 2012. I am sorry I can't remember back that far. so recently here we go.....
My three Pride and Joys current ages are as follows... Evan 14, Nicholas 8 1/2, Mackenzie 3 (soon to be 4 in 3 weeks).
Evan's update:
Evan will be entering High School in September 2013. I know I can't believe it either. He is currently as tall as me.. 5' 4"... that seems to change every day. His interests still include creating things, fixing things. The second half of this summer he has been going to work with Mikel fixing, diagnosing, and spending lots of quality time together. Evan is having a blast. During the school year he became part of the chools Stage crew. He really enjoyed that. They did scenery, lighting, sound, and all the background things for the plays, concerts, special presentations. He is looking forward to joing the Crew at the high school.
Nicholas' update:
Nicholas will be entering 3rd grade in September 2013. His interests still include all things animals. He likes to care for them, learn about them, play with them. He is still aspiring to be a Veternarian when he grows up. He is an awesome big brother to Mackenzie and a great little brother to Evan. He is inquisitive to the extent that on occasion he stumps me with his questions.... Thank goodness for Google.
Mackenzie's update:
Mackenzie will be attending our school districts pre-k program in September. She is very excited. I am nervous and will miss my little partner tremendously. I know this will be good for the both of us. She gives all of us a run for our money especially her brothers. She is know to most as Princess Mackenzie and fills those shoes to a tee. Although, as much as she's a princess, she can and loves to roll in the dirt and fully immense herself in everything ungirly. She is going to be one of the most rounded girls ever!!!!
Mikel tells me often that I have met my match when it comes to her. I know he's right

EASTER April 8, 2012
Well, here on Long Island we have had an extremely mild winter, so in my opinion Easter kinda snuck up on us. We had a beautiful weekend. I cooked the Easter dinner.... a Cooks Ham, home made mashed potatoes, baby carrots with a butter sauce, broccoli florets and Mikel made Grands bisquits. For dessert we had a carrot cake baked by me, and decorated by me with a springy theme.
The kids had a great time getting a ton of fresh air, having two egg hunts and just enjoying each others company. I hope you enjoy the pictures below.

Updates from a Slacker
I know it's bad when I had to look at my own blog to see the last date I was here. So sorry for the slacking. It's been hard to find a chunk of time to get on the computer. Right now the boys are at school and Mackenzie is asleep so i am going as fast as I can until she wakes up.
I think it will be easiest to tell the stories then post the pics at the bottom. you're all smart, you'll figure out who's doing what. LOL
September......
Back to School here on Long Island. The kids enjoyed their last part of August heat finished up with a Hurricane that turned into a Tropical Storm by the time it came to us. Everyone battened down the hatches and there ended up being a lot of wind damaged... this is hard to prepare for.
Evan started 7th grade this year... OMG where did the time go? It feels like just yesterday he was crying to not go into preschool. He has reached the 5ft. mark, so I know it's only a matter of time before he's taller than me. He's already in a men's shoe size 10, and some of his shirts and his jackets are men sizes. He is enjoying the school year so far.
Nicholas started 1st grade this year.... He is still a peanut, but a tall peanut. He is really enjoying school. He loves all his friends.
October.....
We still had summer like weather for most of the month, the leaves are taking their time changing. For Halloween this year, Evan was a mad scientist, Nicholas was a puppy, and Mackenzie Raggedy Ann. They were an adorable bunch.
November....
Weather is staring to change, although at the Christmas Parade the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it was 66 degrees. Not typical around here. we are usually shivering from our heads to our toes. We had a beautiful Thanksgiving. Spent it here at home. It was very relaxing.
December....
The kids are of course looking forward to Christmas. It's nice to see Mackenzie noticing so many new things. Nicholas is tickled pink. He is all about the season this year. Evan actually helped decorate the tree this year.( he didn't want anything to do with it last year). It was great watching the 3 of them work together decorating it. Fills a heart with smiles.
Okay, I think that brought us up to date. So here are some pics.
Christmas has now come and gone, but I will post those pics separately.

Forty
Okay, I did subscribe to the idealism that age is just a number..... until now. I turned the big 40 on Weds. and it seems I couldn't shake the comparison thoughts from my head.... like where are some friends at this point in their lives.... some further than I, some behind, and some at the same stage in life. Like, where were my parents at my age... Geez....me in college and my sister in High School.... I couldn't imagine having that in my life right now..... I have an almost 12 year old just starting Junior High.... a 6 year old starting first grade and my little Princess.. almost 2. I know there are many people in this world older than me with small children but for some reason it kinda got to me on Weds. Then, just as fast as the funk started... I got to thinking how fortunate I am to have had my children at the ages I did.... they truly do keep me young. I most definitely do not feel 40, I don't think I look it (although some might disagree. lol). I am able to enjoy each of my children, I can appreciate the joy they bring and even the frustration. I am more secure of myself and my decisions now than I was in my 20s or 30s. I am just a better mom as each year passes, so watch out kids, by the time you guys are adults I am going to be Mom Supreme!!!!
Here are some birthday pictures I would like to share.
