Forty

Okay, I did subscribe to the idealism that age is just a number..... until now.  I turned the big 40 on Weds. and it seems I couldn't shake the comparison thoughts from my head.... like where are some friends at this point in their lives.... some further than I, some behind, and some at the same stage in life. Like, where were my parents at my age... Geez....me in college and my sister in High School.... I couldn't imagine having that in my life right now..... I have an almost 12 year old just starting Junior High.... a 6 year old starting first grade and my little Princess.. almost 2.  I know there are many people in this world older than me with small children but for some reason it kinda got to me on Weds. Then, just as fast as the funk started... I got to thinking how fortunate I am to have had my children at the ages I did.... they truly do keep me young.  I most definitely do not feel 40, I don't think I look it (although some might disagree. lol).  I am able to enjoy each of my children, I can appreciate the joy they bring and even the frustration. I am more secure of myself and my decisions now than I was in my 20s or 30s.  I am just a better mom as each year passes, so watch out kids, by the time you guys are adults I am going to be Mom Supreme!!!!
Here are some birthday pictures I would like to share.

July Update

Sorry it's been so long.  We are having a great summer so far.  Nicholas did 2 weeks of summer camp in a program about High Seas Adventures. He learned a bit about pirates. Mean while Evan spent some quality time with Mackenzie.  This past weekend we were fortunate to be able to take a mini vacation to Mystic, Ct.  We took the ferry over through the Long Island Sound.  While there we visited the Mystic Aquarium and then the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat on the Conneticut River.  Everyone had an awesome time.  Here are some pictures of the trip
